Stephen grew up in Kimberley, BC, and moved to Vancouver to complete his Bachelor of Science in Biology (1996) and his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (2001). In 2005, he achieved the internationally recognized designation of Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMT). Further postgraduate training has also certified him to practise medical acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation. He has been a teaching assistant for Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association since 2013 and also actively mentors fellow physiotherapists to assist in preparation for their intermediate and advanced orthopaedic exams. The assessment and treatment of knee injuries remains his special passion. Stephen was chosen as a Therapist in the Whistler Athlete’s Village at the 2010 Winter Olympics, and he has been the designated Physiotherapist for various sports teams, including SFU Rugby, Burnaby Lakers Lacrosse and Mixed Ultimate Frisbee. Recreationally, Stephen has fun running and skiing, and playing Ultimate, golf, squash and tennis.
